Star-Spangled Banner NHT Final Interpretive Plan

The Trail's Interpretive Plan will help guide the National Park Service and its partners in telling the stories of the War of 1812 in the Chesapeake. It will explore ways to encourage intellectual and emotional connections between visitors and the resources, sites and people that tell these stories.

An Interpretive Plan:

-Identifies the trail's primary interpretive themes and desired visitor experiences;
-Recommends ways to facilitate those visitor experiences through personal and non-personal services (facilities, media, signage) and partnership opportunities;
-Relates visitor experiences and interpretive recommendations to trail purpose, significance, management objectives and relevant plans; and
-Establishes a framework for implementation for exhibits, audiovisual programs, waysides, publications, facilities, personal services, and partnership activities.
