May 12 2025 NCMAC Meeting
The National Capital Memorial Advisory Commission (the Commission) will hold a meeting on May 12 at 1:00 p.m. The meeting will be held via Zoom. Registration is at:

The Commission will review:
H.R.186 - Hershel Woody Williams National Medal of Honor Monument Location Act/S.858 - Hershel 'Woody' Williams National Medal of Honor Monument Location Act
H.R.1330 - Smithsonian National Museum of the American Latino Act
H.R.1329 - Smithsonian American Women's History Museum Act
H.R.1102 - Commission To Study the Potential of a National Museum of Italian American History and Culture Act
H.R.2196 - To provide for an extension of the legislative authority of the National Emergency Medical Services Memorial Foundation to establish a commemorative work in the District of Columbia and its environs.
H.R.2121 - Commission to Study the Creation of a National Museum of Irish American History
S.1088 - A bill to provide that the memorial to commemorate the sacrifice and service of the women who worked on the home front to support the efforts of the United States military during World War II may be located on the National Mall, and for other purposes./H.R.2290 - To provide that the memorial to commemorate the sacrifice and service of the women who worked on the home front to support the efforts of the United States military during World War II may be located on the National Mall, and for other purposes.
H.R.2306 - To reauthorize the Adams Memorial Commission, and for other purposes.
H.R.2377 - To authorize the White House Task Force on Celebrating America's 250th Birthday to establish the National Garden of American Heroes, and for other purposes.
S.1353 - A bill to extend the authority for modifications to the Second Division Memorial in the District of Columbia.

Other business
The Commission was established by Public Law 99-652, the Commemorative Works Act (40 U.S.C. Chapter 89 et seq.), to advise the Secretary of the Interior (the Secretary) and the Administrator of the General Services Administration (the Administrator) on policy and procedures for establishment of (and proposals to establish) commemorative works in the District of Columbia and its environs, as well as such other matters as it may deem appropriate concerning commemorative works. The Commission examines each memorial proposal for conformance to the Commemorative Works Act and makes recommendations to the Secretary and the Administrator and to Members and Committees of Congress. The Commission also serves as a source of information for persons seeking to establish memorials in Washington, DC, and its environs.
