Kīlauea 3400 Line Relocation Phase 3 Project
In Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park (HVNP), Hawaiʻi Electric Light Company (HELCO) owns and operates electrical infrastructure that serves the park, as well as a portion of the island-wide electrical grid that provides electrical service to customers across the Island of Hawaiʻi. As part of ongoing efforts to maintain their system and provide reliable service, HELCO is proposing the Kīlauea 3400 Line Relocation Phase 3 Project (Project) to upgrade and relocate a portion of the 3400 Line located within HVNP. The proposed Project represents Phase 3 of replacing HELCO poles and lines within HVNP and is the final phase of HELCO's initiative to upgrade and harden the 3400 Line on the island. The environmental assessment for this project is linked for review.
