Kennecott Mines National Historic Landmark Management Strategy for National Park Service Managed Lands, 2024

The National Park Service (NPS) is requesting public input on the Kennecott Mines National Historic Landmark (NHL) Management Strategy for NPS Managed Lands (strategic plan). The strategic plan provides a vision for management of NPS lands within the Kennecott Mines NHL over the next 10-20 years.

A hybrid public meeting (with in-person and virtual options) is planned on Friday, August 2nd. There was a previous community engagement opportunity on this plan from September 9th - December 10th, 2023, as well as several public meetings in the summer of 2023.

The purpose of the public meeting is to share background and updates on the strategic plan. The meeting will consist of a presentation followed by an open house where park staff will be available to discuss the strategic plan and answer questions.

The NPS will be accepting public input on the strategic plan from July 26th - August 26th. Next steps will include a final revision of the document incorporating public comment and the final plan will be released in the fall of 2024.

Public Meeting Date and Location:

Friday, August 2nd at 6:30pm
