Kennecott Mines National Historic Landmark Management Strategy for National Park Service Managed Lands, 2024


The National Park Service (NPS) is pleased to announce the final Kennecott Mines National Historic Landmark (NHL) Management Strategy for NPS Managed Lands (strategic plan). The strategic plan provides a vision for management of NPS lands within the Kennecott Mines NHL over the next 10-20 years.

A hybrid public meeting (with in-person and virtual options) took place on Friday, August 2nd, 2024. There was a previous public comment opportunity on this plan from September 9th - December 10th, 2023, as well as several public meetings in the summer of 2023. The meetings consisted of a presentation followed by an open house where park staff were available to discuss the strategic plan and answer questions. 

The NPS accepted a second round of public comment on the strategic plan, marked "draft" below, from July 26th - August 26th, 2024.

Following a final revision, the plan is complete and marked "final" below.
