NEPA Analysis for Vernal Pool Trail Abandonment

NPS originally planned to rehabilitate the Vernal Pool Trail. Subsequent design efforts have shown that the project has the potential for unforeseen environmental impacts that the park finds unacceptable. As a result, NPS is proposing to remove the trail and let it revert to natural conditions. Prior to making a final decision, NPS wants to hear from the public about this proposal. The attached draft CE discloses the impacts of the new proposal.

NOTE: The public comment period has been extended a day due to an unplanned PEPC outage on March 9.
