Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie Environmental Assessment

The National Park Service (NPS) proposes to replace the docks at Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie National Historical Park. The docks at each fort are essential in transporting visitors and staff to the park.

The NPS is seeking public input on the proposed alternatives and environmental impacts analysis for dock replacement presented in the environmental assessment. Public comments will be accepted from January 16, 2024, through February 15, 2024. Comments can be submitted via this website.

The public is also invited to attend a virtual public meeting on Wednesday January 24, 2024. Staff from the NPS will provide information about the proposed project and be available to answer questions. The meeting will begin with a presentation at 6:30 pm (Eastern Time), followed by a question-and-answer session. The meeting presentation and transcript will be posted to the project website following the event.
