Crescent Lake Visitor Improvements

An Environmental Assessment evaluating the installation of a public outhouse with a 150-foot access trail and 650-foot ranger cabin access trail at Crescent Lake in Lake Clark National Park and Preserve. The purpose of this project is to improve visitor amenities by improving sanitation and to provide safe access to the ranger cabin for park staff and aircraft operating at Crescent Lake. Given the high visitation occurring in a localized area, there is a need to enhance visitor experience, lessen environmental impacts of human waste on the area, and provide safe, season-long access to existing park infrastructure. The National Park Service's preferred alternative proposes to install a public outhouse and 150-foot access trail and construct a 650-foot ranger cabin access trail.
