Herbert Hoover National Historical Site Visitor Access Plan Public Scoping


Herbert Hoover National Historical Site is seeking public comment to help inform how the historic site might manage visitor use & enjoyment through access and recreation for future generations in select areas of the park, while maintaining or enhancing the integrity of the parks purpose and resources.

Below you will find the press release, and the presentation that will be/were shared with the public at the scoping meetings. The questions asked during the scoping meeting are also below. Weather you attended or not please leave your comments/answers to the scoping questions. You are also welcome to comment in-person at the scoping meeting or by mail (address below).

2. What issues most interfere with your desired experience?
3. What opportunities would help you connect to the stories and history of Herbert Hoover?
4. What strategies would address barriers or improve opportunities for accessing the area identified in the map?
5. The NPS is considering increasing access to the area outlined on the presentation slide 4 map. This could include bike opportunities or paved trails. In your opinion, what are the advantages and disadvantages to increased opportunities?
6. Do you have other thoughts you would like to share with the project team?
