Draft Floodplain Statement of Findings for El Portal Wastewater Treatment Plant. The WWTP was identified as being a Class II action within the 500-year floodplain (aka the 0.2% chance of annual flooding zone) in the Merced Wild and Scenic River Plan EIS ROD Floodplain Statement of Findings. The EIS found that "the presence of the facility is essential and prohibits alternative land uses at the same location" (MRP pg. 6-28). No alternative areas of sufficient size or location are available outside of the floodplain (MRP 7-19).
