Environmental Assessment Dare County Dredging Oregon Inlet
United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Environmental Assessment (EA) for 404 permitting (CESAW-RG-W (File Number, SAW 2019-00175)) constitutes the Environmental Assessment, 404(b)(1) Guidelines Evaluation, as applicable, Public Interest Review, and Statement of Findings for the Dare County permit application seeking authorization to dredge Oregon Inlet for the USACE and National Park Service (NPS).
The USACE and the NPS reviewed Dare County's applicant prepared January 2019 Oregon Inlet Channel Maintenance Utilizing a New Privately-Owned Hopper Dredge draft environmental assessment which examined alternative actions and environmental impacts associated with the proposed project to dredge Oregon Inlet with a privately-owned hopper dredge.
The NPS requested to be a cooperating agency on the development of the USACE EA.
