Replace American Camp Temporary Visitor Center EA

The environmental assessment (EA) examines two alternatives: a no-action alternative (alternative 1) and the proposed action (alternative 2) to improve the facilities at the American Camp visitor center site. As the proposed action would involve impacts to wetlands, a Draft Wetland Statement of Findings (WSOF) has been included as Appendix A, for public review and comment.

The EA is available for public comment from November 7 through December 8, 2018. Please make your comments on-line via the Planning, Environment, and Public Comment (PEPC) website. Two public site visits of the proposed project area are scheduled for November 20, 2018 and on December 4, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the American Camp Visitor Center.

This EA has been prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and its implementing regulations (40 CFR 1500-1508) and Director's Order 12: Conservation Planning, Environmental Impact Analysis, and Decision-making and its accompanying handbook to assess the alternatives and their impacts on the environment.
