Air Tour Management Plan - Everglades National Park

Everglades National Park » Air Tour Management Plan - Everglades National Park » Document List

Dear Friends of Everglades National Park,

The National Park Service (NPS) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have terminated the previously initiated process for the development of the Air Tour Management Plan (ATMP) for Everglades National Park (ENP) since the sole air tour operator with interim operating authority (IOA) for the park has voluntarily surrendered their Part 135 operating certificate. As a result, there are no longer any commercial air tour operators with IOA for ENP.

In addition, upon records review, the FAA and the NPS determined that the operator did not conduct any commercial air tours over ENP in 2020 and 2021, nor did they conduct any commercial air tours over the park in 2022. Therefore, the park is exempt from the National Park Air Tour Management Act's requirement to prepare an ATMP or voluntary agreement in accordance with 49 U.S.C. § 40128(a)(5)(A).

A notice of termination was published in the Federal Register on July 21, 2022 (see Links on the left side of the page). This announcement formally concludes the National Environmental Policy Act process.

Thank you for your interest and valuable participation in this planning effort.

Sincerely,

Pedro Ramos
Superintendent
