Dear Friends,

The staff at Lake Meredith National Recreation Area and Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument have developed a draft of the general management plan, which will guide management of the two parks for the next 15 to 20 years. The draft General Management Plan is now available for review. Electronic copies of the plan can be found under 'Open For Comment' on this site.. A limited number of hard copies or compact discs of the plan are also available from the park upon request. The public comment period on the general management plan is 60 days, from March 29- May 28, 2013.

The park will be hosting two open house meetings on the draft plan. The purpose of the meetings is to introduce the draft plan and answer any questions participants may have. During the meeting there will also be an opportunity to provide comments on the draft plan. The schedule for these meetings can be found under 'Meeting Notices' on this site.

During this important planning process we have benefited from the valuable input received from agencies, individuals, and organizations who are interested in the future of these parks. Your continued participation and input are an important part of the planning process. I hope you will continue to participate as we complete the planning and initiate implementation of the general management plan.

Sincerely,

Roseythia Pollard, Acting Superintendent

Lake Meredith National Recreation Area and
Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument
