The National Park Service (NPS), in cooperation with the Bureau of Reclamation (BOR), has prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) for dredging accumulated sediments in Virginia Kendall Lake in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The purpose of the project is to increase storage capacity and fish habitat in the lake through sediment removal.

This document was prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and the regulations of the Council on Environmental Quality (40 CFR 1508.9). The EA includes discussions of the proposed project's potential impacts to environmental and recreation resources.

A Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) selecting Alternative 2 (Virginia Kendall Lake Sediment Removal) was signed on March 31, 2009.
