Description: Producing a national heritage area management plan involves many steps and will take about two years to complete. The management plan process for Atchafalaya is just beginning. The planning team includes staff from the Louisiana Department of Culture, Recreation & Tourism, and technical specialists from Jean Lafitte National Park and Preserve and the National Park Service offices in Atlanta, Georgia, and Denver, Colorado.
