| Description: | The National Park Service wants your input to help shape an Exotic Plant Management Plan for Death Valley National Park. The overall purpose of this proposed Exotic Plant Management Plan is to maintain the health of native plant communities and the park's unique ecosystems by preventing the spread of exotic plants, and removing exotic plants with an integrated approach. The proposed plan would consider incorporation of Integrated Pest Management techniques, which include removing invasive plants, preventing their spread and seed production, and promoting native plant competition. This proposed Exotic Plant Management Plan would consider manual and chemical treatments (which include pulling, cutting, and using herbicides), as well as biological controls such as the use of insect predators, parasites, and pathogens. Additional cultural treatment methods would also be considered, including education, preventative management practices, and restoration. This plan would cover all park areas except for the Saline Valley Warm Springs.
